Hello Everyone! It's been a really long time ... Some of you might remember that I started this blog when I first moved to Egypt in June of 2012. At first, it was just my way of dealing with all the new experiences and the emotions related to living in this mad place. As time went by, it became a kind of hobby of mine - a travel diary of sorts, where I covered everything from my day-to-day life in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria, to politics (as we were going through two revolutions, two presidents, weeks of curfew and socio-cultural turbulences), to larger and smaller trips around the country and the many adventures on the way ... And then... life started getting in the way, I would write less frequently, until I stopped completely. But this is Egypt we are talking about! Om el donya - the Mother of the World! A country that gets deep under your skin and gives you goosebumps every time you cross the street! It knocks your socks off and also makes your stomach turn ... ...

Dahab (Czyli spotkania na krancach swiata)

Ostatni weekend byl niesamowity! Szalony I wspanialy! Spotkalysmy sie z Gosia na Synaju! Uwierzycie!? Gosia mieszka w Izraelu, a konkretniej w Beer Shevie, gdzie zajmuje sie pasozytami w laboratorium - to jest jej blog . Niby mieszkamy tutaj bardzo blisko siebie, bo przeciez tylko przez granice, ale sytuacja polityczna jest na tyle napieta, ze trudno sie spotkac, przejscia graniczne sa nieczynne, drogi pozamykane… Ale przyjechalam tu z mysla, ze nie przepuszcze I znajdziemy jakis sposob, zeby spotkac sie w regionie. I tak wymyslilysmy Dahab :) Wyruszylam z Alex (wlasciwie spod Alex – najpierw musialam dojechac tam taksowka, ktorej kierowca, oczywiscie, zdarl ze mnie skore, ale coz bylo robic?) autokarem do Kairu w czwartek o 23:00. Okolo 03:30 dojechalam na miejsce i gdzie przesiadlam sie do autokaru do Sharm-el Sheikh. Na dworcu poznalam dwoch naprawde fajnych, normalnych chlopakow z Alex, ktorzy pomogli mi znalezc autokar I ogolnie zrobili na mnie bardzo dobre wrazenie. Jecha...

An Open Letter To My Potential Future Child (If Ever)

I’ve been here 19 months exactly (the 17 th of June 2012 was my first day at the office). I’ve lived through the presidential elections, two constitutional referendums, a re-run of the Revolution and a military coup. I’ve had about 14 flatmates from 5 continents (and still counting), and countless couch surfers, some of whose names I don’t even remember.
